01

Products & customisation

What the pieces are made of, what can be changed, and how to see them before you decide.

Can a piece be made in a different size?

Yes - this is what we do. Most designs can be made longer, shorter, wider or taller to suit your room. Tell a design expert the dimensions you need and they will confirm what is possible, the price difference and the lead time before you commit. See how customisation works.

Can I change the timber, finish or fabric?

Yes. The collection is shown in walnut, teak and oak with our standard finishes and cloths, but a design expert can quote the same piece in another timber, a different stain or oil, or a fabric from our swatch library. We post finish chips and cloth swatches on request.

What are the pieces made of?

Solid walnut, teak and oak; hand-woven natural cane; Indian marble and engineered quartz for table tops; solid brass hardware; and bouclé, linen or performance velvet over high-resilience foam. Wardrobe and bunk-bed carcasses use plywood with solid-timber fronts and frames. The full story is on our craft & materials page.

Will the piece look exactly like the render?

Very close, but timber is a natural material. Grain, figure and colour vary from board to board, cane weave differs slightly, stone carries its own veining, and screens show colour differently. We hold dimensions to ±2 cm and fabric pattern alignment to 3%. These are characteristics of the material, not defects.

Can I see or sit in a piece before ordering?

Yes. Our showroom in Indore is open Monday to Saturday, 10:00–19:00, by appointment, with finish samples and fabric swatches on hand. If you cannot visit, we will send samples and, for larger orders, a short video walk-round of the piece. Details are on the contact page.

Does the furniture come assembled?

Most pieces arrive fully assembled. Beds, wardrobes, bunk beds and swings are delivered knocked-down for access and assembled in your room by our team as part of delivery.

Some products say “Render in progress”. Can I still order them?

Yes. The design is finished and can be made; only the photograph is pending. A design expert can send you drawings and finish samples today.

02

Ordering & payments

There is no cart. Orders are confirmed in conversation with a design expert.

How do I place an order?

Pick the pieces you like on Talk to a design expert and open the chat - your picks arrive in WhatsApp already listed. A design expert confirms sizes, finishes and price, sends a written quotation, and the order is confirmed when you accept it and pay the advance. Full terms are in our terms of service.

How much do I pay, and when?

Ready-to-ship pieces: 100% on confirmation. Made-to-measure pieces: 50% advance to begin production, the balance before dispatch. ⚠ The split is written on every quotation.

What payment methods do you accept?

Bank transfer (NEFT / RTGS / IMPS), UPI, and a secure card payment link we send you. We do not take cash on delivery, and we never ask for card details in chat.

Are prices inclusive of GST?

Yes. Every quotation shows the price inclusive of GST at 18% and includes delivery to the ground floor for most pin codes. Anything extra - remote-area delivery, manual lifting above the fourth floor without a lift - is itemised before you confirm.

Do you offer EMI?

Card payment links support the EMI options your bank offers; terms are set by the bank, not by us. Ask the design expert for a link with EMI enabled. ⚠

Can I cancel or change an order?

Ready-to-ship pieces can be cancelled free within 48 hours of confirmation; after that and before dispatch a handling fee of up to 10% may apply. Made-to-measure pieces can be cancelled free within 48 hours of paying the advance; once production has begun the advance is not refundable. Changes after confirmation may add cost and time - we will tell you before proceeding. See returns & refunds.

Will I get an invoice?

Yes, a GST tax invoice from Quantic Cloud Technologies Pvt. Ltd. is issued with every order. If you need it in a company's name with a GSTIN, tell us at the time of order.

Do you accept international orders or payments?

We deliver within India only at the moment. Payments from Indian bank accounts and cards are accepted; international cards are not yet supported.

03

Shipping & delivery

Furniture is large, heavy and precious, so delivery is part of the product.

Where do you deliver?

Anywhere in India a truck can reach. Ground-floor delivery is included in the quoted price for most pin codes; remote locations may carry a charge we tell you about before you confirm.

How long does delivery take?

Ready-to-ship pieces are dispatched within 10–14 working days of confirmation; made-to-measure pieces take 4–6 weeks from the advance. ⚠ Transit is 2–7 days depending on distance from Indore. Your quotation carries the date for your order.

Will I know when it is coming?

Yes. We message you on WhatsApp at dispatch and again 24–48 hours before delivery to agree a slot. If a delay is within our control we will tell you promptly; if it exceeds two weeks you may cancel a ready-to-ship order for a full refund.

What happens on the day?

Our team carries the piece to the room you choose, unpacks it, assembles and levels it, removes the packaging and - where included in the quotation - mounts wall-fixed units. Someone over 18 should be present to receive and inspect it.

What do I need to check before delivery?

Access. Please measure your building entrance, lift or stairwell, front door and the door of the room, allowing 10–15 cm each side for packaging, and tell us the floor number and any society rules. If a piece cannot get in on the day and we were not told, a re-delivery charge applies. The shipping policy has the full checklist.

What if the piece arrives damaged?

Inspect it with our team before they leave, and send photographs on WhatsApp within 48 hours of delivery if you find anything later. Transit damage reported in that window is repaired, the part replaced, or the piece replaced at no cost. After 48 hours it is handled under the warranty instead.

What if I miss the delivery slot?

We will hold the piece and rebook; a re-delivery charge covering the return transport applies. Pieces held for more than 30 days may incur storage.

Can I change the delivery address after ordering?

Before dispatch, yes - message us and we will re-quote delivery if the pin code changes. After dispatch, only if the new address is on the same route.

04

Warranty & care

Ten years on the structure, one on everything you touch.

What does the warranty cover?

10 years on the solid-timber frame and joinery; 1 year on finishes, cane, upholstery and hardware, both from the date of delivery. It covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal domestic use. The warranty page has the full table, exclusions and how to claim.

Do I need to register the warranty?

No. Your order confirmation is your certificate. The warranty is personal to the original purchaser at the original delivery address.

How do I make a claim?

Message us on WhatsApp or email support with your order reference and two or three photographs. A design expert acknowledges within one working day; most claims are settled from the photographs and repaired at your home.

How do I look after solid-wood furniture?

Dust with a dry or barely damp cloth, wipe spills at once, keep pieces out of direct sun and a metre from heaters and AC vents, and re-oil the hard-wax finish once a year with the tin we send. No sprays, polishes or abrasives. The care guide covers cane, stone, brass and fabric too.

A drawer sticks in the monsoon. Is that a fault?

Usually not. Solid timber takes on moisture in humid months and gives it up in dry ones, so a drawer that glides in April may drag in September. Wax the runners and it settles in November. If it does not, or if a joint has loosened, that is a warranty matter - message us.

05

GST & e-way bill

What the tax on furniture is, who can claim it back, and the paperwork for larger shipments.

What is the GST rate on furniture?

18%, as set by the government. Our quotations show it included in the price.

Can I claim input tax credit?

If you are buying for a GST-registered business - an office, a hotel, a café - you may be able to claim ITC on the invoice. Give us the business name, GSTIN and billing address at the time of order so the invoice is raised correctly. Please confirm eligibility with your tax adviser; we cannot advise on your specific situation.

Can I claim ITC on furniture for my home?

No. Input tax credit applies only to purchases made for business use by a GST-registered entity.

What is an e-way bill and will my order need one?

An e-way bill is the GST transport document required for any consignment worth more than ₹50,000 moving within or between states. Most of our orders cross that threshold, so most need one.

What do you need from me for the e-way bill?

We generate it. For a personal purchase we need the consignee's name, delivery address and either PAN or Aadhaar number. For a business purchase we need the GSTIN and billing address. We ask for these on WhatsApp after the advance is paid, and they are used for the e-way bill and invoice only - see our privacy policy.

Premium and luxury furniture, designed and made in India by I'm Rare

I'm Rare makes premium furniture for people who furnish slowly and keep things for a long time. Every piece - 11 categories, 56 designs at last count - is drawn in our studio and built in solid walnut, teak and oak, with hand-woven cane fronts, bouclé and linen upholstery, and solid brass fittings polished to a satin finish. The collection is curated rather than catalogued: a few resolved designs per category, each rendered true to its finish, most of them ready to ship.

Whether you are furnishing a new home, refreshing a single room, or specifying for a boutique hotel, office or café, the pieces are designed to sit together - the same timber, the same joinery language, the same quiet proportions - so a bed, a bedside table and a wardrobe from I'm Rare read as one room, not three purchases.

Furniture for every room in the house

Browse the collection by category: beds, wardrobes, bedside tables, dressing tables, bunk beds, living chairs, swings, consoles, tv units, dining, shoe storage. Each category page shows every design with multiple views, and every design links straight to a design expert on WhatsApp who can confirm dimensions, finish options and the current lead time.

Bedroom: beds, wardrobes, bedside and dressing tables

The bedroom range is where the collection began. Our beds (5 designs) are platform and panel beds in solid walnut and teak - the Arohi with its low, wrapped headboard, the Ira and Vanya with upholstered panels, the Aarav in a deeper, more architectural form. Pair them with bedside tables (5 designs) in oak and walnut, sized to sit flush with the mattress line, and wardrobes (5 designs) with fluted and arched fronts in soft, lacquered tones.

Dressing tables (5 designs) combine a drawer stack, a floating shelf and a framed mirror with integrated storage for the things that otherwise end up on the surface. For children's rooms and guest rooms our bunk beds (5 designs) are built-in style pieces with stairs, drawers and cane screens, engineered to be dismantled and reassembled without losing rigidity.

Living: chairs, swings, consoles and TV units

Living chairs (6 designs) are sculptural, solid-wood frames with deep, loose cushions - the kind of chair a room is arranged around. Swings (5 designs) bring the Indian verandah indoors: round and rectangular cane-and-timber daybeds on rope or chain, sized for one or two. Consoles (5 designs) with cane doors and tapered legs suit hallways and behind-sofa positions, and our TV units (5 designs) keep cables, consoles and remotes behind fluted fronts so the wall stays calm.

Dining tables and entryway storage

The dining range (5 designs) pairs sculpted timber pedestals with marble and solid-wood tops and matching chairs, in four-, six- and eight-seat lengths. At the front door, shoe storage (5 designs) is treated as furniture rather than a cupboard - cane-fronted cabinets with a bench, a mirror or an arched panel to hang a coat.

Ready to ship, or made to your measure

Most designs are held in small batches and leave the workshop within a fortnight. If a piece needs to be wider, shorter, in a different timber or a different cloth, one message on WhatsApp reaches a design expert who will confirm what is possible, the price difference and the revised lead time - typically four to six weeks for made-to-measure work. We deliver across India with white-glove installation by our own team, and every piece carries a ten-year structural warranty.

Materials and craft

  • Walnut - deep, figured, our signature timber for beds, chairs and consoles.
  • Teak - dense and golden, used where pieces may see humidity or sun.
  • Oak - pale and straight-grained, for bedside tables and lighter rooms.
  • Cane - hand-woven rattan, set into solid frames so it never sags.
  • Brass - solid, never plated; handles, feet and hinges age to a soft patina.

All timber is kiln-dried and finished in a hard-wax oil that can be repaired at home with a cloth. Upholstery is bouclé, linen or performance velvet on high-resilience foam.

Visit our showroom

See the timber, sit in the chairs and compare finishes in person at our studio and showroom: First Floor, Plot No. 152, PU-4, AB Road, Behind C21 Mall, Scheme 54 PU4, Indore 452010. Visits are by appointment so a design expert can walk you through the collection - message us on WhatsApp to book a time. We ship to every city in India, including Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Ahmedabad, Jaipur and Bhopal.

Why I'm Rare is the considered choice for premium furniture in India

Because the collection is small on purpose. We would rather make eleven categories well than four hundred products quickly. Because every render on this site is the piece you receive - the same timber, the same proportions - and because the person you speak to on WhatsApp has sat in the chair and knows the drawer runners by name. And because when a room needs something slightly different from what is on the page, we make it.

I'm Rare is a brand of Quantic Cloud Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (CIN U72200MP2019PTC049234 · GSTIN 23AAACQ6253C1ZV).
